Canadian artist Sola shows a point of interest in her tapestry conceived as
an historical document to celebrate Sydney's hosting of the 2000 Olympic
Games at her workplace in the historical Rocks area of the city
September 5, 2000. Sola is a self-taught weaver who works without
drawings, integrating each building into the tapestry from memory. She
has other "Place Portraiture" as Sola refers to her tapestries including
the Vancouver World's Fair, the Key West tapestry in Florida, the 1996
Atlanta Olympics, the Miami Fantasy (inspired by Gianni Versace) and the
Taos Pueblo in New Mexico. When she completes her Sydney piece she
