Korean reaches 80 kg final

SYDNEY, (Reuters) - South Korea's Kim Kyong-hun dominated for the third successive fight to move into the final of the 80 kg class in the Olympic debut sport of taekwondo on Saturday. Kim posted a 7-3 victory over Pascal Gentil of France and will go for the gold medal against Australian Daniel Trenton, a 6-2 winner over Milton Castro of Colombia. Taekwondo, an ancient martial art which resembles karate but focuses on kicks with bare feet, is Korea's national sport. The Koreans have picked up two golds and a silver in the three weight classes in which they have competed so far. In the women's 67 kg division, China's Chen Zhong beat Adriana Carmona of Venezuela 8-6 to move into the final against Russian Natalia Ivanova, who downed Natasa Vezmar of Croatia. Win or lose Chen will score China's first taekwondo medal.
